Mountain Lakes, NJ Area Branch

Attend a Program

Regular Branch programs are held at the Mountain Lakes Library, 9 Elm Road, Mountain Lakes. From Rte. #46, take second right onto Morris Avenue. The Library is at the intersection of Morris Ave. and Elm Rd, next to the Post Office. Enter the left door to downstairs room, newly renovated to include a lift (operational during hours library is open) for those challenged by stairs. (Use Mapquest for more specific directions from your starting location.) Guests are cordially invited to attend. Refreshments are available a half-hour prior to the meeting.

 

Friday, February 17 11, 9:30 a,m.—Local Authors Panel

 

A panel comprised of local authors including poets, novelists, children's books authors and memoirists will share insights into their works and sources for their creativity.

 

Dee Ernst, author of Better Off Without Him, a modern romantic comedy  

Janet Zetlin (formerly Hokinson) a short story and memoirist, author of Children of a Distant Summer

Anne Kappel, an author of children's books

Ann DeVenezia, author Rding My Tricycle: Poetry of Dreams and Visions, a published poet

 

After some personal remarks by the authors, there will be discussion and questions. Copies of some of their books will be available for sale.

 

Members are welcome to join the authors for lunch at a nearby restaurant, probably Verde Ristorante, Route 53, Parsippany. (Please let Sue Wagner know if you wish to join us for lunch so she can make the necessary reservations.)

Friday, March 16, 9:30 a.m.—Speaker Peggy Tanner, EdM, MAT, LPC and LCADC

 

Welcome Peggy Tanner as she explains the health benefits of our female friendships. Peggy is a warm and caring individual with a great message for us. Peggy has been in practice for 8 years, specializing in addictions or substance abuse, anxiety, depression, domestic abuse, spirituality, trauma and PTSD. She received her Ed.M. in Counseling Psychology at Teachers College, Columbia and her MAT in Biblical Studies at Seton Hall School of Theology. Her approach is both eclectic and holistic using various therapy techniques and working with spiritual issues in a non-denominational approach.
