Mountain Lakes, NJ Area Branch

AAUW promotes equity for all women and girls, lifelong education and positive societal change. Founded in 1881, with now 100,000 individual members and 1,300 college/institution partners, AAUW is the oldest and largest national organization working for the advancement of women.

AAUW Mountain Lakes Area Branch…

·         has 100+ members—Graduates with an associate or equivalent degree, baccalaureate or higher degree, or an international equivalent. Geographic area includes, but is not limited to, Mountain Lakes, Denville, Boonton, Boonton Township, Montville, Parsippany and Rockaway. If you are new to AAUW and/or Morris County, contact Marti for more info.

Scholarship monies = $7,000+ so far! (Member Solicitation, $5,425 and growing; Card & Game Party, $470; 50/50s, $915; and Baskets, $245)

·         sponsors 10 lively Enrichment Groups matched to members' interests. (See Enrichment Groups)

·         offers Community activities including:
Nominate a new group to be our Partnering with the Community focus in 2010 – 2011—Deadline, April 30.   Mountain Lakes Fall UN Weekend

—$500 was given to the national Educational Foundation 2009 Eleanor Roosevelt Named Grant Honoree: Dr. Adrienne E. Lesser, who has served as Public Policy Director of both Branch and AAUW-NJ


Yet another honor was bestowed upon Dr. Rev. Audrey Leef as Montclair State University awarded her a doctor of letters for her years as math professor there and outstanding public service.
