Background
When faced with rising operating costs
and yearly AAUW National dues increases, the board decided not to
raise branch dues. A fundraising committee was formed in 2004 instead,
demonstrating our branch's commitment to increasing finances for
accomplishing the work we foresee in the years ahead. We would also like to
give more money for scholarships than we have been able to in recent years.

Midwinter Scholarship Member Solicitation
Solicitation letters
were mailed to members in January for response requested by March 31. If you
are a member and haven’t responded, please send in your donations as soon as
possible. However, the Scholarship Committee welcomes donations anytime during
the year.in 2009, the Solicitation plus proceeds from other fundraisers
provided $6,000 for awards two local recipients, a college junior and
matriculated grad student, plus a Educational Foundation Named Grant in the
name of Adrienne E. Lesser.
Presentations
of 8 wines to taste will be made at the beautiful home of Suzanne Wagner
in Smoke Rise. Join us for a great afternoon of fun and female frolic.
